Longer and fuller eyelashes... seriously

I had wanted to write about this for a long time. The longer I hung on to publishing this post, the more I feel bad for keeping this a secret!

* Please note that I am not advertising nor endorsing this for the brand. I just wanted to share this with my girlfriends out there. This is not an advertorial either.

One day, while I was in the pharmacy in Sg Wang Plaza, I overheard a couple of cashiers talking about a mascara. They were saying how unbelievable the results were of this miracle mascara. I interrupted and found out more about what they were talking about and immediately headed to the stand / booth / stall they were refering to.

It's called Mircoz Mascara Lash Extender.

(L-R) Black Mascara, Lash Extender Volumising, Lash Extender Lengthening
The miraculous creation I bought is in a set of 3 items:-

  • Mircoz Black Mascara (RM 69) - Standard black mascara that is essential to lock in the results
  • Mircoz Lash Extender Volumising (RM 79) - creates full lashes, containing tiny BLACK fibers of Panthenol
  • Mircoz Lash Extender Lengthening (RM 79)  - creates longer lashes made of tiny WHITE fibers of Panthenol

Book & Movie Review : The Kite Runner

Book Review
* Image Source : MrQuale.com
This book was released in 2003, published in 48 countries and immediately became an international bestseller. Written by Khaled Hosseini, the story tells of two young boys, Amir and Hassan growing up together in Afghanistan in the 1970s. One a son of a wealthy man, the other the son of the house servant.

The story, narrated by Amir tells of him growing up through the good and tough war times in Afghan. After much memory-filled drama, he's now a published author living in San Francisco. He revisits his past and remembers his roots, his childhood dreams and friendship.

Summary on author's site:-

Taking us from Afghanistan in the final days of the monarchy to the present, The Kite Runner is the unforgettable, beautifully told story of the friendship between two boys growing up in Kabul. Raised in the same household and sharing the same wet nurse, Amir and Hassan nonetheless grow up in different worlds: Amir is the son of a prominent and wealthy man, while Hassan, the son of Amir's father's servant, is a Hazara, member of a shunned ethnic minority. Their intertwined lives, and their fates, reflect the eventual tragedy of the world around them. When the Soviets invade and Amir and his father flee the country for a new life in California, Amir thinks that he has escaped his past. And yet he cannot leave the memory of Hassan behind him.

Restaurant Review : Mei Keng Fatt Seafood

I have been going to Mei Keng Fatt Seafood Restaurant for years. I believe the restaurant has probably been in business for close to 15 years or more. It has gone through several rounds of refurbishments as well. Even parking around here has improved tremendously. Their expansions include buying over several other housing lots to serve as their parking spaces (FOC for customers).

Among my group of friends, this restaurant is known as the best Chinese seafood restaurant for locals and foreigners. Many times we have brought our foreign friends here and most of the time, we see quite a number of foreigners and expats dining here. Also, many a times, we tend to bump into other friends here, too.

Mei Keng Fatt is situated in Kuala Ampang. Coming from Flamingo Hotel on your left, go past the interchange to the Ampang - KL Elevated Highway. Turn on the next left (you will see their signboard from the main road). I about 500 m, you will see Mei Keng Fatt on your left.

Honestly, the pricing of the food here is rather pricey compared to other local seafood restaurants / tai chow places - about 30-40% more expensive. However, the ambiance is nicer here and is a good place for us to entertain out-of-town guests. The food is good and they have excellent food and specialties that a foreigner would love.

I'm a DOG person

In case you're still a bit daft after reading this blog title, I AM A DOG PERSON.

Every dog is cute. Every dog is adorable. Every dog is lovely. If it were up to me, I would adopt every single dog in the world. Pure bred, mongrels, pariah dog, whatever you call them - I love ALL dogs.

I grew up in a household who love dogs. We've always had dogs in the house as long as I remember. At its peak, we would have as many of 3 adult dogs and one puppy. Always male dogs. My family loves German Shepherds. We've had about 2 or 3 of them in the past.

I love all my family dogs very much. Although I don't always play with them as much as I like. There were also several weird personalities and "psycho" doggies. Everyone of the family members have fond memories of them all - getting bitten, watching them fight for their territories, watching them suffer and die of old age or injuries, etc. I still cry at the thought of the sad times.

I am a now proud parent to an almost 6 year old salt and pepper Mini Schnauzer. I absolutely adore him.
